All about our fenders

Only a few people like riding their bike in the rain. But with a good set of fenders, you can beat every rain cloud to protect your bike and yourself against the spray of debris and water. All our fenders

Fenders for every kind of urban bike

Below, we will explain what type of fender is suitable for your bike. But first, let's have a look at E-bikes, city bikes and kids' bikes.

E-bikes and city bikes

Both E-bikes and city bikes can have different wheel sizes. You must keep this in mind for the right coverage of your fenders. Generally, the fenders on city and E-bikes are permanently mounted. This way, the fenders can follow the exact bend of the wheel for maximal coverage and protection.

Kids bikes

We also would like to protect our smallest cyclists! Fenders for kids' bikes have only one major important variable: the wheel size. Later on, we will explain a bit more about this.

Fenders for sportive bikes

Road Bikes

Almost all road bikes have a wheel size of 28 inches. Their narrow tires allow for slimmer fenders while still providing maximum protection. Even though the road may seem clean, debris builds up quickly, and without fenders, you'll likely return home covered in dirt. A good set of fenders helps keep you and your bike clean!

Mountain Bikes

A mountain bike ride is a true test for your fenders. Wide tires with deep tread patterns send debris flying in all directions! Modern mountain bikes come in different wheel sizes, so make sure to choose fenders that match your specific bike.

Gravel Bikes

When riding a gravel bike, gravel, sand, and water can fly up all around you! That’s why we designed the GravelCatcher, a special fender to make your gravel rides more comfortable and mess-free.

Find the right balance for you

More protection often means a relatively large fender that covers most of the wheel. This fender provides maximum protection by closely aligning with the wheel and following its curve from the bottom bracket to the rear. Additionally, it protects both you and your bike, which means it requires a safe, secure, and more permanent attachment.

In contrast, a fender with a quick-release system can be attached and removed easily, but it is usually smaller and provides slightly less protection. The balance between protection and convenience differs for everyone. On this page, we provide the information you need to determine what works best for you.

Protection

The amount of protection a fender provides is mostly determined by its size and shape. A mountain bike fender is often quite wide and may even include a special mudflap for extra coverage. Road bike fenders, on the other hand, are relatively narrow to match the slim tires. Fenders for city bikes typically follow the curve of the tire for maximum protection.

Below, we will explain in more detail how we have optimized protection at all levels, for both front and rear fenders.

Front Fender

Front fenders primarily protect the front of your body, including your face, chest, and possibly your lower legs. The actual shape and size of the fender determine the extent of protection. A fender that closely follows the curve of the wheel, sits near the tire, and extends low at both the front and back provides maximum coverage. This type of fender is usually securely attached to the bike and can be difficult to remove. If you plan to keep your fenders on year-round, this can be a great advantage!

In addition, we offer fenders like the MudCatcher. As the name suggests, this fender is specifically designed to catch mud. Smaller fenders primarily prevent the worst debris from hitting your chest while also reducing mud buildup between the wheel and the front fork. They are easy to attach and remove, making them a quick and simple solution.

Rear fender

The same principle goes for rear fenders. A fender like the DiscGuard provides maximum protection on your road bike. This fender provides protection for both you and your bike. Via the mini ringfix, this fender is mounted on your bike. This gives a very safe and secure mount to your bike and allows the fenders to be placed close to the wheel for a flush look and maximum protection.

Besides, we also have a range of fenders that are attached with our RingFix system to the seatpost. This type of fender only protects the back of the rear wheel, and thus no protection around your legs. The spray that normally makes your back wet will be covered. Protecting only the gross debris, but also allowing easy mounting and adjusting for your convenience.

FlexFender

To conclude, the FlexFender, a truly unique fender. This versatile fender can be mounted on both the front and rear of the bike, providing essential protection against water and debris.

When mounted on the front, the FlexFender primarily shields your face. On full-suspension bikes, it can also be installed on the rear, helping to protect the shock absorber and linkage from dirt and water. Thanks to its simple yet smart design, the FlexFender can be mounted in just a few seconds, offering the perfect balance of protection and flexibility!

To the FlexFender

The right protection for the right wheel size

We have mentioned this before, but it is important that the size of your fender and wheel are the same. To provide the protection a fender promises, it is important to choose the right size. By choosing the right size, you avoid water and debris from passing on besides your fender. This goes for fenders that follow the complete bend of your wheel, as well as, for example, the straight fenders on mountain bikes. The length of the fender greatly determines the amount of protection. So, make sure you choose the right size fender for your bike to get the protection you need.

Mounting systems

As you have probably already seen; different fenders have different mounting systems. The mounting system on your fenders greatly determines the ease in which it can be mounted to your bike. Below, we will briefly discuss all mounting systems to get an overview of what is available.
